If the gift store is open, buy fish food by the Ziploc bag instead of using the quarter machines on the observation decks.

This place is one of the best and FREE kept secrets of South Dakota! Lots of trout to feed and many historic buildings to tour and very informative volunteers. The kids loved it too!
