A great breakfast spot is Laneway 17 which is just 50m up Ellenborough Street towards Brisbane St. Opens at 6.30am.

I like oaks, I have used them in most states. The good thing about this one is Woolworth's across the road. If you can stay with some one, the 2 bedroom units are great. One bed with kitchenette is ok

Room 604: of they try and give you this room, say no. It has a very odd smell and the lay out is worse than the others.
