A thin stripe of land 6 thousand kilometers in length along the Pacific coast.

That's how the exotic country of Chile looks on the map. But this small piece of land is very popular with tourists. Travelers from all over the world come here to see the local landmarks. The most attractive sight for them seems to be Easter Island with its ancient monuments. This volcanic island is home for 900 giant statues called moai created between the 13th and the 16th century. The human faces carved out of stone protect the vent of Rano-Raraku volcano. While on the island, you can also ride a zip-line, dive with a scuba to study the underwater caves, or visit the local anthropological museum. In Santiago, the capital, tourists can taste the famous sea urchin soup, climb San Cristóbal Hill, ride the cable car in the Santiago Metropolitan Park, and visit the Museum of Memory and Human Rights.Among popular places to visit in Chile are also the cities of Arica, Calama, Iquique and San Pedro de Atacama. The country guide suggests visiting the thermal sources Termas de Mamiña in Oasis de Pica, Valle de la Luna in Los Flamencos National Reserve, and the colorful port city of Valparaiso. You can go there using local transport: buses and trains. And you can easily get to the Easter Island via one of the regularly plying ferries.
