West End began as landfill 1807. In 1950s was source of controversy when 7000 residents were displaced by urban renewal project that razed 80% of neighborhood. More West End History via our blog

Opened in summer of 2004 and is a series of photos and videos which celebrate the history of the area. A large portion is dedicated to strong immigrant tie of neighborhood. More info in blog.

Bruce, my tour guide, was quite bitter and did a lot of barking. I would have liked to look over the displays at my own pace, though the "tour" was not optional.
